About Joelle Steele & Best Business Contracts

I began writing and selling contracts for small businesses in 1983. In fact, I was the first to sell contracts online, starting in 1994. My mission is to provide every small business owner with contracts that are easy to understand, ethical and fair to all parties, legally enforceable, fully customizable, and truly affordable.

I started out by writing several pre-printed forms that I sold by mail order to the horticultural and publishing industries. Shortly after that, I began writing contracts for small businesses in other industries and trades and sold them to forms houses. In 1994, I started my first website, joellesteele.com, and sold my contract forms online. But by 2002, computers and the Internet had become an integral part of every small business, and I responded to this technology by converting all my pre-printed contract forms into customizable templates in Word documents and shipping them as E-mail attachments. In 2021, I made all of my contract templates downloadable.

I am always expanding my catalog, and today Best Business Contracts (formerly Contract Kingdom) offers 100+ small business contract templates. I also write contracts on request. In addition to small businesses, my clients include attorneys and individuals in the United States and throughout the world. I also published some of my articles and blog posts on this website to help people better understand contracts and other aspects of justice and the law.

I have been a writer for my entire life. I have a BA in Language Arts (a double-major in English and Linguistics) and I’ve also taken classes in the Constitution, contract law, business law, torts, and legal writing. I’m not a lawyer and I don’t provide legal advice, but all my contract templates are reviewed by an attorney.
